GB Auto provides Egypt with 300 buses

 Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al-Gaber, paid a visit to GB Polo Plant in Ain El Sokhna accompanied by Army Major-General El-Arabi Al-Serwi, Suez Governor, and Dr. Raouf Ghabbour, GB Auto CEO, to view the final model of buses, which the UAE Project in Egypt will supply 600 of them to the Egyptian Public Transport Authority. 300 buses will be manufactured by UAE-based bus manufacturer Hafilat Industries while the remaining 300 will be built by GB Auto, an Egyptian leading automotive producer and distributor the Middle East and North Africa.

The dignitaries were accompanied by Major General Mohamed Shams, Third Field Army Commander Assistant; Colonel Mohamed Samir, representative of Department of Armament Affairs; Major General Hisham Attiya, Head of the Public Transport Authority; Engineer Mohamed Abdullah, Head of the Central Administration of Technical Affairs at Public Transport Authority, and other distinguished guests from the Emirati side.

During the tour of the bus manufacturing plant, the delegation observed the production phases and the cutting-edge technology used in building the buses. Dr. Raouf Ghabbour, GB Auto CEO, fully explained the high specifications of the new buses, which are made for heavy duty and will meet the objectives of the UAE project. He confirmed that the buses will be supplied to the Egyptian Public Transport Authority according to a specified schedule; the first phase includes the delivery of 300 buses in three batches from November 2014 to January 2015.

Al-Jaber said, “The important projects we saw today at Ain Sokhna confirm the availability of abundant promising opportunities which will enable Egypt to address challenges. We are confident that Egypt has tremendous abilities and that its people will work hard to realize stability, growth, and progress.’’

At the end of the tour, Dr. Raouf Ghabbour, GB Auto CEO, expressed his gratitude to the UAE for its generous support of the development projects in Egypt and that GB Auto is proud to be one of the companies contributing to building Egypt’s future.

GB Polo Factory is built on an area of 283.4600 sq. m. and is equipped with modern technology. It is staffed by 499 highly trained technicians and engineers. Its production line varies from micro microbuses to medium and heavy trucks.
